No attorney-client relationship starts when you browse these pages, submit the intake form, text the firm, or send an email. That relationship begins only when Sun Law and you sign an engagement letter that names the matter and the fee.

Until that letter is signed, Sun Law has taken on no duty to you, is not tracking your deadlines, and is not acting on your matter.

Do not send confidential information yet

Information you send before an engagement letter is signed may not be protected as confidential, and it may not be privileged. Sun Law may already represent someone on the other side of your matter, which would prevent the firm from taking your file.

Send enough to describe the issue and no more. Sun Law will tell you when it is safe to send the rest, and how.

Sun Law works out of Houston, with attorneys admitted in Texas and New York. Nothing on this site is an offer to practice law in a state where the firm's attorneys are not admitted.

When a matter needs a lawyer admitted somewhere else, Sun Law brings in local counsel and stays on the file alongside them.

Fees quoted on this site

Prices on the pricing page are starting points for the scope described there. Your engagement letter states the fee that governs your matter, and it controls if the two ever differ.

Filing fees and other third-party costs sit outside quoted fees and are billed at cost.
